On our farm we try to use as much of the manure as possible on our own land. We separate it, spread it at the right moments, and try to match it with the crop needs so we’re not wasting anything. Timing and weather make a big difference.

With neighbors we sometimes swap or share, depending on who needs what. If someone has extra land or different crops, it can work out pretty well. The goal is just to keep the nutrients close to home and make sure nothing goes to waste.
