The Lely Sphere system has been officially recognized as a low-emission technique in Dutch regulations, with version 2 now allowing for installation with a Proflex Meadow rubber floor, giving farmers a choice between concrete or rubber. The update also enables the use of nitric acid for better nitrogen concentration in fertilization, reducing transport needs and supporting circular farming. Additionally, the system is part of the "Reinventing Circular Dairy Farming" research, which explores using cow urine as a fertilizer substitute. Dairy farmers can join the pilot between 1-15 May 2025.
