I’ve been reading up on rotational grazing and how tech like satellite pasture measuring can help make better decisions. For those of you already doing this — do you still mostly move cows by gut feeling, or are you using tools/apps to measure grass growth
We still mostly go by cow condition and pasture look, but we do back it up with a plate meter once a week. Tried an app for measuring, it’s handy, but at the end of the day you can usually tell when the grass is ready just by walking the paddock. Tech is nice, but gut feeling still plays a big role here.
