In a forum post a user might pose a question or topic seeking help, advice, or discussion. Other users are then able to respond to the forum post. Forum posts are more interactive than blog posts since they allow multiple users to respond to each other, ask questions, and engage in discussions.

In contrast, a blog post is normally written by one person and is a more in-depth and researched form of writing which draws more deeply on the authors areas of expertise, interest and passion. The purpose of a blog post is to share information, insights, opinions, or experiences on a specific topic in a manner that is easy for people to read and understand. Blog posts do however also allow other users to add short comments or feedback.
