Article Feed type

Specific settings per feed type can be made in the feed type settings. By using the dropdown on the right sight, these settings can be specified per group.

Go to Feed dashboard -> Manage -> Feed type

- Minimum visit amount (kg): This works for the Cosmix only. The cow will not be fed if the build up amount is not higher than the minimum.

- Feed speed (gr/min): the grams which will be fed per minute. Maximum visit amount (kg): the maximum amount of concentrates a cow will get during a visit to the robot or Cosmix.

- Maximum take over (%): the maximum amount of concentrates which a cow can have in her credit. Example: if a cow is programmed at 8 kg/day, she can have a maximum of 4 kg of credit.

- Maximum increase per day (kg): the maximum increase in programmed amount of concentrates per day.

- Maximum decrease per day (kg): the maximum decrease in programmed amount of concentrates per day.

- Feed speed based on milk speed: meant for slow milking cows to make sure they get concentrates for a longer period during their visit to the robot.

- The feed speed will be lowered a little; this is calculated per cow and based on the cow’s previous milkings.

- Feed speed does not fluctuate during the milking itself; if the milk speed goes up during the milking, the feed speed will stay the same.Milk speed (kg/min) = milk yield / (box time in seconds (end time-start time) * 60)Feed speed (gr/min) = Total programmed concentrates Astronaut / (Daily milk yield last 7 days / Average milk speed last 7 days) * 1000

- Feed speed used as maximum when feed speed based on milk speed is YES

- Temporary increase/decrease per day: option to set the amount of concentrates higher or lower temporarily.

- With the temporary increase/decrease feature, you can adjust the amount of a specific feedstuff given during a certain period without changing the feed table.

- This setting takes effect immediately and can be activated for specific groups using the dropdown menu.

- You can’t set a specific period, so you need to manually activate or deactivate it. This feature can be useful in the following situations: During the grazing season, when the grass has varying levels of protein/energy, you can compensate with concentrates. When a feed type unexpectedly runs out and you can’t reorder in time, you can temporarily increase the amount of another feed type.
